Rodney Libraries welcomes suggestions from library members for resources to be added to collections. These suggestions are valuable in assisting us to ensure our collections are as up-to-date and relevant as possible.
Preference is given to suggestions for titles published in the last 12 months, and that are already published (i.e. not pre-publication).
Items will not be purchased if they are
- Out of print,
- Very specialised or of interest to only a small number of people,
- Unable to be supplied by standard library suppliers,
- Sufficient copies of the titles or similar titles.
Suggestions can be made via the website or in print on a suggestion for purchase form available from library staff. As part of our eResources service, customers can search Global Books in Print to check the details of their request, and get an indication if the item is still in print and available to purchase.
We inform customers when we decide not to purchase the suggestion, provided customers supply contact details, preferably email.
In order that we can meet these requests in a timely manner, customers may be asked to limit the number of suggestions.
Thank you for your interest in the collections of Rodney Libraries.
